Chakra Foods

Balancing the Root Chakra with Food

The Root Chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in life. This includes your basic needs such as food, shelter, money; as well as emotional needs such as letting go of fear, feeling safe, etc. 

Protein, Meats, Root Based Vegetables and Red Fruits are  nourishing for the Root Chakra.

Balancing the Sacral Chakra with Food

The Energies of Creative Expression, Sensuality, Pleasure and Joy are stored in the Sacral Chakra. Foods that you can eat with your hands or anything that can eaten in a playful way are nourishing to this Chakra. Fish, Apricots, Mangoes and orange colored foods are especially beneficial.

Balancing the Solar Plexus with Food

The Solar Plexus is your Power House and the seat for Self-Esteem, Purpose and Confidence. Nurture this Chakra by drinking Ginger Tea in the morning. Other beneficial foods include: Brown Rice, Quinoa, Oats and Pumpkin.

Balancing the Heart Chakra with Food

The Heart Chakra is the Center for Kindness, Forgiveness, Generosity and Compassion.  It teaches us that Love is the Ultimate Healing Force. "Feed" this Chakra by frequently eating organic leafy vegetables. In addition, drink matcha tea and pink smoothies.

Balancing the Throat Chakra with Food

The Gift of the Throat Chakra is accepting others for who they are, being your authentic-self and expressing your truth without hurting the ones around you. Soothe this Chakra by drinking Apple Cider, Coconut Water and Herbal Teas. Blueberries and Raspberries are recommended as well.

Balancing the Third Eye Chakra with Food

The ability of seeing beyond the physical reality is the gift of the Third Eye Chakra. It's the seat for Intuition and Higher Awareness.  Nurture this Chakra with purple foods. Lavender Tea is highly beneficial. Include berries, grapes, eggplant, figs and purple kale in your diet as well.

Balancing the Crown Chakra with Food

The Crown Chakra is the Doorway to our Spirituality. Many would suggest that the best way to "feed" this Chakra is actually not eating, in other words, fasting. Alternatively, you can engage in light detox. Drink infused water, eat light fruits and vegetables or sip on herbal tea.
